S Y D is an independent fashion brand based in the UK, founded by Nike, a Nigerian - London born self-taught fashion designer. In 2018, S Y D started out by Nike providing custom made to order services to close friends and family members but since has also now ventured out to doing available to wear clothing.

The S Y D acronym stands for Silver Younge Diane which was derived from Nike being inspired by different walks of women who seeks to express themselves eloquently, authentically, and boldly. Diane being one of Nike's middle names was the final touch to personalise the brand directly through her many ways of expression in fashion and life.

S Y D speaks to women who have an affinity for Afrocentric styles and beauty, that are creative in their own unique ways and who want to feel confident while looking good doing so. 

Our mission is to work with small grassroot organisations that support the wellbeing and development of African women and their communities.

We aim to empower women all over the world to take pride and have confidence in who they are and where they come from.

S Y D will forever celebrate African culture and textiles through its pieces and products all being ethically sourced and made in Ghana. Working mostly with women seamstresses, artisans and weavers.

S Y D has transformed into a womenswear collection and lifestyle brand that serves to inspire and empower women globally, whilst focusing on giving back to the communities where its inspiration stems from.
